Job summary

Blue Cross UK in Sheffield is seeking a Pet Welfare Assistant for off-site pet care to join the Rehoming & Fostering Services team.

This permanent, part-time role covers 18.75 hours over a two-week rota with shifts Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in Week 1 and Monday and Thursday in Week 2. The role emphasises welfare, customer service, and collaboration with fosterers and clients to help pets find loving futures.

Qualifications

• Experience of having previously worked or volunteered with domestic animals or in an animal welfare environment.
• Good experience of recording information and being able to accurately convey this when communicating with others
• Previous experience in working in a customer focused environment and used to achieving a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Good organisational and administration skills to include computerised systems.
• A full driving licence.
• The ability to demonstrate, understand and apply our Blue Cross values.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specific number of pet cases within off-site services, including rehoming pets in foster or Home Direct service or pets in temporary crisis care.
• Ensure welfare standards are met and rehabilitation plans are followed for pets in foster homes.
• Complete assessments of pets preparing for a new home in off-site services efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service as the centre will be a public-facing touchpoint for Blue Cross.
