Job summary

Blue Cross UK in Sheffield is seeking a Pet Welfare Assistant for off-site services. You will manage pet cases, ensure welfare standards, and help prepare pets for new homes, working 18.75 hours per week on a two-week rota. You will be the public face, delivering excellent customer service in a compassionate, animal-centred setting.

The role requires empathy, strong communication, and a commitment to our welfare mission, with driving responsibilities and a flexible approach to shift patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience with domestic animals or animal welfare environments.
• Experience recording information and communicating with others.
• Customer-focused background with high customer satisfaction.
• Good organisational and administration skills and computerised systems.
• Full driving licence.
• Ability to demonstrate Blue Cross values.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specified number of off-site pet cases, including rehoming and crisis care.
• Ensure welfare standards are met and rehabilitation plans followed.
• Assess pets for new homes to complete quick turnaround.
• Provide excellent customer service as the public face of Blue Cross.
