Job summary

ALTEN is seeking an experienced Control System Design Engineer with a PES background. The role focuses on PES-based control system designs and modifications, ensuring compliance with CE&I standards across the project lifecycle from concept to handover in Warrington.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years delivering PES-based designs in regulated environments, holds an Engineering degree (or military-equivalent), and demonstrates strong communication.

Qualifications

• 3+ years delivering PES-based control system designs on multidisciplinary projects.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience in highly regulated industries (nuclear, defence, energy, utilities, or process).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review PES-based control system designs and modifications.
• Produce high-quality CE&I design documentation.
• Ensure compliance with relevant engineering standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical support during commissioning activities.
• Participate in design reviews and technical assurance activities.
• Mentor junior engineers where appropriate.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to meet project objectives.
