Highfield Professional Solutions Ltd. is recruiting for a CE & I Control System Design Engineer to work on PES-based control systems in Warrington. The role involves delivering and checking PES-based designs, and supporting commissioning teams within a major nuclear infrastructure programme.

You will collaborate with multi‑discipline teams, produce compliant documentation, mentor junior engineers, and help drive projects through concept to handover with strong communication.

Warrington | Hybrid – 3 days on site

£51‑£55/hour | Inside IR35

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Delivering and checking PES-based Control System designs and updates to meet functional and business requirements
• Supporting other engineers in the delivery of high‑quality CE & I design outputs
• Working collaboratively across disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions
• Producing clear, compliant documentation aligned with relevant engineering standards
• Providing technical support to Commissioning teams as required
• Supporting and mentoring early-career engineers

What We’re Looking For

Essential

• Minimum HNC (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Incorporated Engineer status (or working towards)
• 3+ years’ experience delivering PES-based Control System designs on external multi‑discipline projects
• Proven experience from concept design through to handover
• Working knowledge of relevant engineering standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience providing support to Commissioning
• Willingness to support and develop junior engineers

Desirable

• 5+ years’ experience delivering PES-based Control System design on external and/or SL multi‑discipline projects
• Strong understanding of design updates to existing control systems in regulated environments
• A pragmatic, solutions‑driven engineering approach
