Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an experienced EC&I Systems Engineer to join our growing team in Teesside/Middlesbrough. This permanent role involves owning control and automation work packages from concept through FAT, SAT and site commissioning across diverse client projects.

You will work hands-on with PLC/DCS platforms (Siemens PCS 7, TIA Portal, Rockwell) and contribute to documentation, safety standards and customer discussions, with UK travel and site work part of the routine.

Qualifications

Requires degree or equivalent in EC&I/ Electrical/Electronic Engineering.
5–10+ years in control systems, automation or EC&I engineering.
Experience in process industries (chemical, petrochemical, energy, pharma, food).
Hands‑on with major PLC/DCS platforms (Siemens or Rockwell).
Strong grasp of EC&I deliverables and lifecycle; commissioning, FAT/SAT, start‑up.

Responsibilities

Own and deliver control/automation work packages from concept to FAT, SAT and site commissioning.
Develop and maintain engineering documentation (URS, FDS/SDS, C&E, I/O lists, P&ID marks).
Configure/program PLC, DCS, SCADA/HMI systems (Siemens PCS 7, TIA Portal, Rockwell, WinCC).
Plan system integration, panel specs and interface definitions across electrical/IT networks.
Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning, loop checks and plant start‑ups.
