Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient, flexible SEND Science Tutor to provide ongoing one-to-one Biology tuition for a Year 9 student under EOTAS provision in Wokingham. The role requires adapting to dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD and demand-avoidant tendencies with a calm, supportive approach.

Sessions are in-person, 2-3 hours weekly, with flexible scheduling to fit the student’s needs. You will monitor progress, tailor content to interests, and maintain safeguarding and professional boundaries

Qualifications

• Must have experience working with SEND learners.
• Ability to adapt to dyslexia, dyspraxia, ASD, and/or demand-avoidant tendencies.
• Ability to provide a calm, low-pressure learning environment.
• Experience delivering one-to-one tuition or personalised educational support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 2-3 hours of personalised Science tuition per week.
• Support Year 9 student via EOTAS provision.
• Plan engaging, accessible sessions tailored to individual needs.
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to parents/carers and professionals.
• Maintain safeguarding and professional boundaries in sessions.
• Adapt teaching to learner's interests to encourage engagement.
• Create a calm, supportive learning environment and allow learner autonomy.
