Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a patient SEND Science Tutor to provide ongoing one-to-one tuition for a Year 9 boy accessing EOTAS in Herefordshire. The role is in-person, with around 2–3 hours per week across the school year, focusing initially on Biology but flexible to the student's interests.

Candidates should have experience supporting learners with SEND, a calm, flexible approach, and a safeguarding mindset; enhanced DBS and references are expected, with the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with SEND (special educational needs).
• Ability to tailor science sessions to individual needs.
• A patient, flexible and empathetic approach to learning.

Responsibilities

• Deliver 2-3 hours of personalised Science tuition per week.
• Provide consistent tuition throughout the full school year.
• Plan engaging sessions tailored to the learner's interests and needs.
• Adapt teaching methods for ASD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and demand-avoidant tendencies.
• Create a calm, supportive learning environment.
• Provide feedback to parents/carers and professionals involved in EOTAS.
