Job summary

Activate Learning seeks a dedicated Teacher of Personal Development for its Merrist Wood College Campus. The role focuses on delivering a structured, engaging Personal Development curriculum within a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

You will assess learner progress, collaborate with curriculum teams and uphold safeguarding and professional standards. The position is permanent and part-time (22 hours per week), offering a three-day induction and ongoing development opportunities within

Qualifications

• Understanding of effective teaching, learning and assessment practices and how to support learner progress and engagement.
• Ability to work collaboratively within curriculum teams, contributing to planning, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
• Commitment to professional development, including willingness to undertake a Level 3 teaching qualification and progress onto a Level 5 Teacher Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver and assess an engaging Personal Development curriculum in line with quality standards.
• Monitor learner progress, attendance and development with timely interventions and outcomes.
• Work within faculty teams, aligning delivery with planning, timetabling and QA processes.
• Maintain high professional standards, safeguarding responsibilities and learner-teacher boundaries.
