Job summary

A social care staffing agency is looking for a Personal Advisor to join the Leaving Care Team in Sefton. This role offers 36 hours per week on an initial 16-week contract, supporting young people aged 16+ as they transition to independent living. The ideal candidate will have experience in social work and strong communication skills to advocate for young people's needs. Opportunities for extension based on service needs are available, alongside attractive referral bonuses.

About the Role

We are seeking a committed and experienced Personal Advisor to join the Leaving Care Team in Sefton. This role involves providing high-quality support to young people as they transition from care to independent living, ensuring they have the guidance, resources, and opportunities they need to thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting young people aged 16+ as they move towards independence
  • Developing and reviewing Pathway Plans
  • Providing advice around education, employment, training, housing, health, and budgeting
  • Advocating on behalf of young people and liaising with partner agencies
  • Managing a diverse caseload and maintaining accurate records
What We're Looking For
  • Experience working with young people in or leaving care
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Good understanding of the Children (Leaving Care) Act (desirable)
  • A person-centred, strengths-based approach
Contract Details
  • Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Contract: 16 weeks initially
  • Location: Sefton
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Extension: Possible based on service need
