Job summary

Anglian Water Services in Grimsby is seeking a Bioresources Permit Control Officer to oversee the permit-to-work (PTW) process for high-risk activities at our largest Water Recycling Centre. You will ensure all work is authorised, coordinated, and executed to the highest health and safety standards.

You will lead daily permit meetings, review risk assessments, monitor compliance, and conduct inductions and audits.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable experience working within a Permit To Work system and on operational/high-hazard sites.
• Strong understanding of health & safety and process safety regulations.
• Proven ability to assess risks and make sound operational decisions.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence to drive improvement.
• Passion for teamwork, continuous learning and high-quality results.
• Health & safety qualification (minimum IOSH level).

Responsibilities

• Manage, issue, and close permits for site activities, ensuring robust risk assessment and compliance.
• Host daily permit meetings to coordinate tasks and prevent conflicts (SIMOPs).
• Conduct site inductions, inspections, and audits to uphold safety standards.
• Oversee mechanical and electrical isolations (LOTO) and site access controls.
• Support incident management and communicate lessons learned.
• Collaborate with operational teams and stakeholders to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.
