Job summary

Seqens Custom Specialties in the United Kingdom seeks a Permit to Work Coordinator to oversee safe permit-to-work execution across maintenance and project activities at our Middlesbrough site. You will ensure efficient operations and support a strong safety culture.

You will train staff, issue permits, monitor real-time PTW status, conduct audits, and drive EHS standards in collaboration with the EHS department.

Qualifications

• Some professional experience within the chemical industry.
• Understanding of a permit to work system (hot work, pressure jetting, confined space entry, isolation of energy sources, working at heights).
• Outstanding approach to personal safety and the safety of others.
• Ability to liaise with personnel at all levels of the organisation.
• Credible and confident communication skills.
• Good organisational and planning skills.
• Ability to work on multiple tasks under pressure and to deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and project work to ensure safe and efficient execution.
• Issue permits (high/low energy hot work, pressure jetting and confined space entry).
• Monitor permit activities and drive real-time PTW visibility with the Permit Tracker.
• Carry out permit audits, observations, checks and coaching.
• Provide training around the permit to work system and associated standards.
• Coach plant personnel to resolve EH&S issues around PTW.
• Coordinate permit activities during plant shutdowns and project engineering work.
• Attend daily activity coordination meetings.
