Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is assisting in the placement of a Permanent Primary Special Needs Teacher in Burnley. The role is for a KS1 class in an independent special school, with a salary of £28,000–£39,520 per year and full-time hours (37.5 per week, term time only).

The successful candidate will have QTS, EYFS/KS1 SEN experience, and be prepared to provide personal care as needed to support non-verbal pupils and learning through play.

Qualifications

• Must hold QTS and have EYFS or KS1 teaching experience.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEN.
• Willing to provide personal care.

Responsibilities

• Teach play-based, sensory lessons to a small KS1 class.
• Support communication for non-verbal pupils.
• Provide personal care with dignity.
• Direct the classroom support staff.
• Record progress and keep parents informed.
• Help with break duties and school trips.
