Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is seeking a permanent KS3/KS4 Special Needs Teacher for a small independent school in Burnley. You will teach small classes of secondary pupils with complex needs, including SEMH, delivering adapted lessons and following pupil support plans.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week, term time only) with a salary of £28,000–£39,520 per year on the school's own pay scale. QTS is required and KS3/KS4 experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential.
• KS3 and/or KS4 teaching experience is essential.
• Experience with pupils with SEMH or complex needs is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach adapted lessons to small KS3 and KS4 classes.
• Follow pupil support plans and promote positive behaviour.
• Build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Report progress and concerns to staff.
• Help with break duties and school trips.
