Job summary

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a Special Needs Teacher to lead a KS1 class in Burnley, Lancashire. The role is full-time, term-time only, with a temp-to-perm contract starting after the October half term.

You will teach play-based lessons to non-verbal pupils with complex needs, using signing and objects of reference, and supervise support staff. Applicants must hold QTS and have EYFS/KS1 experience, ideally with SEN.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching EYFS or KS1.
• Experience with non-verbal pupils or complex SEN.
• Willing to provide personal care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach play-based lessons for a small KS1 class.
• Communicate with non-verbal pupils using signing and objects of reference.
• Give personal care in line with care plans.
