Job summary

HR GO Recruitment seeks a skilled CNC Turner/Setter-Operator (Fanuc) for an aerospace precision engineering business in Basildon, UK. This permanent role offers stability and varied work across batch sizes and exotic materials.

You will set and operate Fanuc lathes, apply offsets, conduct first-off and in-process checks, read drawings (GD&T beneficial), and contribute to quality records. Competitive pay DOE with overtime in a quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner/Setter-Operator in precision engineering (aerospace desirable).
• Confident understanding of Fanuc controls (setting, running, offsets; basic edits).
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and interpret engineering drawings.
• Competent with measuring equipment and routine first-off/in-process checks.
• Current UK right to work (required).

Responsibilities

• Set and operate a range of Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes/turning centres producing aerospace components to close tolerances.
• Apply tool offsets, carry out tool changes, prove-outs and basic at-machine edits as required.
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, etc.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and route cards (GD&T beneficial).
• Complete inspection paperwork/records accurately and follow quality procedures.
• Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Perform basic machine care and maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices.
• Support live tooling work where required (or train into it).
