Job summary

HR GO Group is recruiting for a CNC Turner / Setter-Operator in Basildon, Essex. A permanent role offering £18–£19 per hour, with overtime and a strong aerospace/precision engineering focus. You will set, operate and inspect Fanuc-controlled lathes, ensuring tight tolerances and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter-Operator in precision engineering (aerospace desirable)
• Confident understanding of Fanuc controls (setting, running, offsets; basic edits)
• Ability to work to tight tolerances and interpret engineering drawings
• Competent with measuring equipment and routine first-off/in-process checks
• Reliable, quality-focused approach and good attention to detail
• Current UK right to work (required)

Responsibilities

• Set and operate a range of Fanuc-controlled CNC lathes/turning centres producing aerospace components to close tolerances
• Apply tool offsets, carry out tool changes, prove-outs and basic at-machine edits as required
• Conduct first-off and in-process inspection using micrometers, verniers, bore gauges, etc.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and route cards (GD&T beneficial)
• Complete inspection paperwork/records accurately and follow quality procedures
• Identify and report non-conformances and support corrective actions
• Perform basic machine care and maintain good housekeeping and safe working practices
• Support live tooling work where required (or train into it)
