Performance Marketing Manager - News Corp

Your Team: Be part of a dynamic and evolving team at The Sun, driving digital growth and performance. Sitting within the Sun Business Unit at News UK, Sun Publishing is responsible for sales, operations, commercial product strategy, and partnerships across The Sun’s platforms. Our team works collaboratively to create compelling digital strategies that drive revenue and user engagement.

Your Role: As Performance Marketing Manager, you will be responsible for planning and executing the performance marketing strategy across digital channels (paid + onsite) aimed at driving membership conversion. Your focus will be on increasing awareness, engagement, and ultimately, conversion to paid memberships. You will lead A/B testing initiatives, optimise digital marketing campaigns, and leverage data-driven insights to personalise user experiences. Hands-on experience with platforms such as Meta is essential. You will collaborate closely with The Sun’s Head of Digital Marketing and key internal teams to enhance user experience, improve conversion rates, and maximise ROI.

Day to Day, You Will:

  1. Define and implement strategies to improve conversion rates across onsite and paid channels, ensuring measurable improvements in digital performance.
  2. Develop and execute comprehensive A/B testing initiatives, using data insights to personalise user experiences and enhance engagement.
  3. Manage onsite testing and personalisation projects from ideation to execution, working closely with UX, Product, and Marketing teams to optimise user journeys.
  4. Collaborate with brand and customer marketing teams to ensure digital campaigns align with the wider marketing plan and brand strategy.
  5. Launch and optimise paid acquisition campaigns with a focus on driving cost-effective conversions, ensuring campaigns deliver measurable results.
  6. Own and manage performance marketing roadmaps, adopting a testing mindset to drive efficiency and maximise return on investment.
  7. Strengthen digital tracking and reporting capabilities, working with Insights, Data, and third-party suppliers to measure effectiveness and refine strategies.

What We’re Looking For From You:

  1. Extensive experience in digital marketing and performance marketing, with a strong track record in paid media, conversion rate optimisation, and customer acquisition.
  2. Experience in membership or subscription would be an advantage.
  3. Proven ability to define and execute data-driven strategies to improve conversion rates and drive commercial impact.
  4. Experience managing large-scale paid acquisition budgets, ensuring strong return on investment.
  5. Expertise in A/B testing, audience targeting, and personalisation to enhance digital engagement.
  6. Strong collaboration skills, working cross-functionally with UX, Product, and Marketing teams.
  7. Passionate about The Sun brand, with an understanding of both its print and digital audience.

We offer a flexible working arrangement: Employees are expected to be in the office a minimum of three days per week. For the remaining two days, there is the option to work remotely if desired.
