Job summary

CAF Rail UK is seeking a Performance Engineer in Edinburgh to investigate safety, reliability and technical issues. You will analyse failures, maintenance data and defects, identifying root causes and driving technical improvements with cross-functional teams.

The role involves collaboration with the Project Support and Maintenance teams, plus occasional UK/Europe travel to engage with CAF projects and suppliers.

Qualifications

HND or above in an engineering-related discipline.
Experience in a systems reliability and performance role.
PC literate with the ability to learn new software quickly.
Able to learn new technologies quickly.
Proven experience in planning and organising.
Experience writing technical reports.

Responsibilities

Monitor fleet and materials performance and suggest improvements.
Review in-service failures and vehicle availability daily.
Investigate technical incidents and safety defects.
Produce detailed technical investigative reports.
Work with Maintenance and Project teams to implement changes.
Engage with suppliers to resolve warranty issues.
