Shape and lead a more strategic People Partnering function. This is an opportunity for an established People leader to take ownership of an experienced Business Partnering team and drive its next phase of development within a large, complex organisation.

The organisation is at an important point in its transformation journey, with a clear ambition to strengthen the strategic contribution of its People function. The Business Partnering team is already established, with relationships across senior leadership and the wider organisation. The focus now is on building its strategic capability, ensuring it provides meaningful insight, challenge and direction to support business priorities.

As People Partnering Manager, you'll lead an experienced team of People Business Partners, setting direction, developing capability and ensuring the function operates as a proactive and influential business partner. You'll work closely with senior leaders to shape workforce priorities, support organisational change and translate business objectives into effective people solutions.

You'll be responsible for:

  • Leading, coaching and developing an established team of People Business Partners, driving high standards and strategic impact.
  • Shaping and embedding a more commercially focused, insight-led and proactive partnering model.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser and constructive challenger to senior business leaders.
  • Leading the delivery of strategic People priorities, ensuring alignment with wider organisational objectives.
  • Providing strategic leadership on organisational design, workforce planning, talent and large-scale change.
  • Using workforce data, analytics and insight to influence decision-making and identify opportunities for intervention.
  • Providing oversight and escalation on complex employee relations and employment law matters.
  • Building effective relationships across the People function, wider business and external stakeholders, including recognised trade unions.
  • Leading cross-functional People projects and supporting the continued development of the People Strategy.

We're looking for a credible, experienced People leader who has already operated at senior Business Partnering leadership level.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience leading and managing a team of People Business Partners within a large, complex organisation.
  • A proven track record of developing Business Partnering capability and embedding a strategic approach.
  • Experience influencing senior leadership teams and translating business priorities into people strategy.
  • Strong experience supporting large-scale organisational change and transformation.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and operate as a trusted strategic adviser.
  • Strong commercial awareness, analytical capability and experience using workforce insight to shape decisions.
  • Extensive knowledge of UK employment legislation, complex employee relations and organisational risk.
  • Experience working collaboratively with trade unions and employee representatives.
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused leadership style, with a genuine commitment to inclusive leadership and colleague experience.
  • Experience within either the public or private sector will be considered, provided you have operated within an organisation of significant scale and complexity. Chartered MCIPD or equivalent would be advantageous.
Why Join?

You’ll have the opportunity to lead an established team through an important period of organisational change, with senior-level exposure and the mandate to influence how People Partnering operates across the organisation.

This is a role for someone who can bring proven experience, strategic credibility and the leadership capability to make an immediate impact, strengthening an established function and ensuring it delivers real value to the business.
