Job summary

Lawhive, a global AI-native law firm, seeks a People Operations Associate to support UK/US employee experiences across the lifecycle. You will help build scalable, people-first processes and work closely with a small People team to own onboarding, lifecycle admin, payroll support, and engagement initiatives.

You’ll join a hands-on team with exposure to HR projects end to end and opportunities to drive improvements in our evolving policies and tools.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years in People Operations or HR coordination.
• Experience onboarding, including contracts and changes.
• Exposure to full employee lifecycle from onboarding to offboarding.
• Payroll exposure (UK, US or both) is a bonus.
• Experience with cross-border processes, especially US/UK.
• Familiarity with HR tools and handling sensitive data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive mindset to improve processes.
• People-first attitude to help teams thrive.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage new starter onboarding from contract creation to day one.
• Be main contact for new joiners through pre-boarding.
• Manage employee lifecycle admin and documentation.
• Handle offboarding processes and probation tracking.
• Maintain and audit HRIS data (HiBob) for accuracy.
• Support monthly UK and US payroll inputs with Finance.
• Respond to employee queries on people topics and payroll.
• Support performance cycles, pay reviews and benefits rollouts.
• Drive engagement through culture, wellbeing, and learning initiatives.
• Identify inefficiencies and streamline onboarding and workflows.
