Holding some of the world’s leading brands on our client roster, we pride ourselves on innovating and creating performance driving firsts for our clients.

Company Overview

Campfire is an award-winning Social first digital agency, founded on values of Honesty & Integrity, Exceeding Expectations and First Principle Thinking. Holding some of the world’s leading brands on our client roster, we pride ourselves on innovating and creating performance driving firsts for our clients.

We believe in meritocracy. If you want to work for an agency who will invest in you and your career, Campfire is the right place for those willing to step up and deliver as part of the team and for our clients. With quarterly PDPs rather than annual, your career can move as quickly as you do.

Position Overview

The People Operations Manager is responsible for building our recruitment pipeline end to end, with a primary focus on talent attraction and acquisition, onboarding, and ongoing training. Above all, this role is about creating and fostering a working environment people genuinely want to be part of – one that attracts, develops and keeps top talent.

The successful candidate will build a repeatable recruitment engine, design and deliver our onboarding and ongoing training programmes, and partner with leaders on workforce planning. HR duties will be minimal: day-to-day HR matters, legal, employment law and compliance will be passed to our external HR support, leaving this role free to focus on talent, training and culture.

What are the key responsibilities for the role?
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment activities, including workforce planning, advertising, candidate sourcing, interviewing, offer management, and onboarding.
  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates across all business functions.
  • Develop Campfire’s employer brand and candidate experience so that the best people come looking for us.
  • Build and nurture a proactive talent pipeline to support current and future hiring needs.
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand workforce requirements and provide recruitment and talent advice.
  • Own onboarding end to end, designing a structured first 90 days that gets every new camper settled, trained and productive quickly.
  • Report on recruitment, retention and training metrics so we can see what is working and where to invest next.
  • Run the quarterly PDP cycle and coach managers to deliver development conversations that move careers forward.
  • Build, implement and continually refresh our ongoing training programme, identifying opportunities to enhance employee capability and career growth.
  • Drive employee engagement and own the projects that make Campfire a place people are desperate to join and reluctant to leave.
  • Manage relationships with external recruitment agencies and HR service providers where required.
  • Act as first point of contact for day-to-day HR matters, referring these promptly to our external HR support rather than handling casework in-house.
Required Skills For Our Team
  • Proven experience in Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, or People Operations.
  • Strong recruitment experience with the ability to source, assess, and secure high-quality talent.
  • Experience designing and delivering onboarding and training programmes.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities, with the capability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret HR data and produce meaningful reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across teams.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives.
  • Understanding of employment legislation and HR compliance requirements, with experience coordinating external legal or compliance providers rather than managing these functions directly.
  • Relevant HR qualification (e.g., CIPD Level 5 or above) is desirable.
What do we expect from our team?

At Campfire we are committed to providing all our campers with a healthy, safe and supported work environment, where everyone is able to be themselves, work freely and express their creative passion. We do ask that in order for us to do so, you comply with our behaviour expectations.

Our values?

Campfire share their values, not as words on a wall but as something we naturally live and breathe every single day, and as part of our recruitment process we will ask specific questions around culture to ensure all new campers are aligned with our three core values:

Clarity, Honesty & Integrity | Exceeding Expectations | First-Principle Thinking

  • What do we offer our team?
  • 25 days annual leave, plus Bank Holidays, christmas shutdown, the day for your birthday
  • Loyalty Holidays (accrue 1 extra day per anniversary year up to 5 extra days)
  • X2 wellness days or £100 allowance
  • Hybrid working (2 days in the office, 3 days from home)
  • Flexi-hours, our full hours are 9-5:30, but core hours are 10-4:00, the remaining hours outside of this (if you're an early bird or night owl) are up to you to decide when to work
  • Discretionary Bonus (this will be part fixed salary % and part flexi % based on performance metrics - all bonuses are subject to business performance)
  • Quarterly Campfire value awards
  • Free fruit, snacks and plenty of beverages to keep you full for the day
  • Regular social events including the big summer and christmas parties
  • Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption leave, shared parental and fertility journey support policies
  • Enhanced company sick pay
  • Employee assistance programme - with access 24hrs a day on an array of topics that you may benefit from seeking additional support.
Equal Opportunities Statement

Campfire believes that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity, and that’s why we embrace equity as part of our values. We strive to prevent discrimination in all aspects of the employee cycle, in particular in the recruitment process. We understand that no “one size fits all” and we are committed to ensuring everyone feels welcome, at ease and supported.
