Job description

Working within the People Operations and wider HR Team, this role supports the day-to-day delivery of HR and Payroll processes and proactively collaborates with team members to support their client groups. This is a generalist role that offers exposure to HR information systems, employee lifecycle, payroll, and operational HR. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and resolving HR Operations queries promptly and effectively. Success in this role requires being thoughtful, resourceful, team-oriented, and customer-focused.

Please note, this role is a 12-month Fixed Term Contract.

Key duties and responsibilities

This role will serve as the first point of contact for HR queries.

Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Managing the onboarding process, including drafting offer letters and contracts, creating system records, and coordinating with relevant departments for IT setup.
  • Handling leaver processes, liaising with HR Managers/Officers, and updating payroll accordingly.
  • Preparing contractual change documentation such as changes in hours, roles, locations, or promotions.
  • Providing guidance to staff on payroll-related queries and conducting regular reconciliations.
  • Offering day-to-day HR guidance on policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Maintaining HR system data accuracy and timeliness, including updates to salary, hours, benefits, and personal details.
  • Responding promptly to HR queries and documenting processes for efficiency and improvement.
  • Supporting colleagues during peak periods or absences within the HR team.
Compliance
  • Ensuring completion of pre-employment screening and escalation of issues, including right-to-work checks.
  • Maintaining compliance with local legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Managing staff files to ensure proper record-keeping.
  • Collaborating with the HR team to audit HR system data.
About you

The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor and excellent communication skills. They should be highly organized, proactive, confident, and able to work independently. The candidate must thrive in a busy, fast-paced environment, be flexible, cooperative, and willing to learn.

Desired experience
  • Experience working within an HR team environment.
  • At least one year's experience processing monthly payroll.
  • Experience with HR systems.
