Job summary

Worcestershire County Cricket Club seeks a People and Culture Manager to lead HR operations, engagement, recruitment and compliance. The role is 28 hours per week over four days, primarily on-site in Worcester with one hybrid day.

You will support the People Plan, coach managers, manage policies and payroll coordination, and drive an inclusive, high-performing culture. The position requires CIPD Level 5, strong generalist HR experience, knowledge of UK employment law, and the ability to handle

Qualifications

  • Minimum CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Strong generalist HR experience, ideally in a standalone or small-team environment.
  • Working knowledge of UK employment law, HR best practice and employee relations.
  • Hands-on experience with HR administration, payroll coordination, and compliance.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues with professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience in developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work across all levels of the Club.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and reporting of the Club's People Plan and align people priorities with Club goals.
  • Provide practical HR guidance to the CEO, SLT and managers as needed.
  • Lead People and Culture matters, ensuring policies are applied consistently and HR best practice is followed.
  • Line manage and mentor the HR & Business Apprentice.
  • Manage HR documentation, contracts, policies and records with accuracy and compliance.
  • Advise and coach managers on day-to-day people matters including performance, absence, EDI and wellbeing.
  • Gather feedback and support initiatives to improve engagement and employee experience.
  • Oversee end-to-end recruitment to attract and retain top talent.
  • Manage onboarding, changes to employment and offboarding to support a positive employee experience.
  • Identify training needs and support succession and skills planning.
  • Champion EDI initiatives in line with safeguarding and EDI leads.
  • Coordinate performance appraisal processes to drive accountability and growth.
  • Coordinate compensation and benefits administration with the Finance team.

About the Role

The People and Culture Manager at Worcestershire County Cricket Club is the Club's day-to-day lead for people matters, supporting the delivery of the Club's People Plan and providing practical HR support to managers and the Senior Leadership Team. This hands-on role covers engagement, recruitment, development, HR operations and compliance, while championing a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery and reporting of the Club's People Plan, ensuring people priorities align with the Club's goals.
  • Provide practical people and HR guidance to the CEO, Senior Leadership Team and managers where needed.

About You

You will need to have the right to work in the UK or be able to obtain this by the start date. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.

Hours, benefits and salary

This is a part-time role working 28 hours per week over 4 days. You may be required to work occasional evenings and weekends during the Cricket season, with time off in lieu (TOIL) provided The salary for this role is £30,000 per annum for 28 hours per week over 4 days (equivalent to £37,500 FTE based on 35 hours).
