Job summary

Ampa Group is seeking a confident, pragmatic People Advisor to join our Midlands-based team. You’ll own day-to-day people activities for Shakespeare Martineau and other brands, delivering practical HR support, coaching managers, and driving efficient processes.

You will lead employee relations cases, advocate commercially-focused advice, and contribute to organisational change while maintaining a strong employee experience and collaboration with the recruitment team.

Qualifications

• Experience as a People Advisor/HR Advisor, ideally within professional services or legal sectors.
• Experience independently managing employee relations cases from start to finish, including complex matters.
• Strong knowledge of employment legislation and employee relations processes.
• Experience advising managers with clear, practical and commercially focused guidance.
• Confident in challenging established ways of working and influencing stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage high volumes of work with competing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient with IT and open to AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage employee relations cases from start to finish.
• Support, coach and empower managers on people-related issues.
• Provide clear, pragmatic, commercially focused advice.
• Lead or support organisational change activities and coordinate stakeholders.
• Support cyclical people processes, including promotions and salary reviews.
• Collaborate with hiring managers and talent acquisition to ensure smooth recruitment.
• Identify opportunities to improve people processes, resources and ways of working.
• Support and/or lead wider business initiatives and projects.
• Translate people data into meaningful actions and improvements.
• Build trusted relationships with the business and uphold company culture.
