Job summary

Marks Sattin is recruiting a Payroll & Pensions Officer on a part-time basis for a growing company in Flixton, Greater Manchester. The role is 29 hours weekly across 4 or 5 days, term-time plus 2 weeks, with hybrid working and an outstanding pension.

Key duties include accurate payroll processing, changes and checks, liaising with the payroll provider and HMRC, and supporting the People and Finance teams to continually improve payroll and pension processes.

Qualifications

• Payroll and pensions experience
• Experience of tax codes, deductions, SMP and SSP
• Payroll systems experience
• Continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

• Ensure all colleagues are paid accurately in line with contractual timeframes
• Process payroll changes (leavers, contract changes, expenses) and monthly payroll checks as required
• Raise payroll errors and inaccuracies with the payroll provider via the appropriate routes
• Ensure appropriate statutory deductions are made by sending relevant information to the payroll provider
• Check shared parental leave and maternity leave schedules are accurate
• Work with the wider People Team and Finance Team to continuously improve
• Update any employer pension contribution rates with the payroll provider
• Liaise with HMRC on taxation issues
• Attend monthly contract management meetings with payroll provider
