Job summary

Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Children’s Respiratory Nurse Specialist to join the Respiratory Specialist Nursing Team. You will manage asthma patients, support clinics, perform spirometry and FeNO tests, and develop personalised management plans across Kings Mill Hospital and Newark.

You will contribute to audits, lead a small team, and educate colleagues to improve child health outcomes in a collaborative MDT setting.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Specialist knowledge of Respiratory medicine.
• Research awareness.
• Knowledge and understanding of child protection policies and procedures.
• Understanding of audit and research.
• Counselling skills.
• Experience of management of caseloads and running nurse-led clinics.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of asthma patients and support nurse-led and consultant-led clinics.
• Perform spirometry and FeNO testing and develop personalised asthma management plans.
• Contribute to clinical audit and research activities.
• Support leadership of a small team and participate in MDT meetings.
• Provide education to medical and nursing colleagues to promote best practice.
• Collaborate with safeguarding teams and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.
