Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry seeks a Paediatric Respiratory Clinical Nurse Specialist (NHS AfC Band 6). The role covers the UHCW and Rugby St Cross sites and supports children with respiratory conditions within the respiratory nursing team and paediatric consultants.

Qualifications

• Current Paediatric Professional Registration – RNC or equivalent.
• Evidence of continuous professional development, with courses relevant to area of work.
• Degree level education.
• Study at level 6 (degree/ diploma).
• Experience in acute paediatric respiratory care and multi-agency working.
• Knowledge of NHS current issues and patient involvement.

Responsibilities

• To support/participate and deputise if required in Consultant and Nurse-led clinics within guidelines.
• Develop knowledge to assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for paediatric respiratory patients.
• Act as advocate for patients and co-ordinate multidisciplinary team efforts.
• Be aware of therapies and ensure safe, effective care through education.
• Undertake holistic assessment and support families, exploring alternative therapies as appropriate.
