Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Medical PA within the Plastic Surgery team. The role focuses on producing accurate clinic letters and medical reports, filing investigations into EPIC, and coordinating meetings and patient logistics for consultants and junior staff.

You should have medical terminology knowledge or willingness to train, plus experience in confidential clinical administration and using MS Office.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• Experience in clinical/medical administration.
• Ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate clinic letters from EPIC for consultants and the clinical team within agreed timeframes.
• Type non-routine and urgent patient information, such as medical reports and discharge summaries, within deadlines.
• Arrange patient appointments, transport, hotel accommodation and interpreters.
• Run service meetings: book venues, prepare and circulate papers, take and distribute minutes, follow up actions.
• Upload correspondence and investigation results to the correct EPIC section within 24 hours of receipt.
• Ensure radiology reports and external imaging are available when needed.
• Gather further patient information from internal and external sources as required.
• Carry out other duties appropriate to the grade as delegated.
