Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Biomedical Scientist in Immunology (Band 5) for a 12‑month maternity cover. The role is full‑time, 37.5 hours per week, based at Great Ormond Street, London, within the specialist Immunology Laboratory, supporting paediatric diagnostics.

You will contribute to high‑quality diagnostic services, supervise junior staff, and work across technical disciplines including serology, molecular, immunophenotyping and flow

Qualifications

• BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent as assessed by the HCPC.
• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience in ISO15189 accredited Immunology laboratory preferred.
• Experience with diagnostic assays in Serology, Molecular, Cellular & Immunophenotyping and flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a high-quality diagnostic service within Immunology Laboratory.
• Provide supervision and training to junior staff.
• Undertake core scientific, technical and interpretative work across the lab, including Gene Therapy section.
