Job summary

St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a permanent Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist (Immunology) to join the immunology laboratory team. The successful candidate will provide specialist clinical technical services, engage in CPD to maintain HCPC registration, and contribute to training of staff while ensuring adherence to SOPs and quality standards.

The role involves performing core scientific and interpretive work, contributing to audits, and working within SWLP

Qualifications

• Registered Biomedical Scientist with HCPC registration responsibilities.
• CPD to maintain HCPC registration and professional development.
• Flexibility and ability to train and supervise staff within a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist clinical technical services to patients, including research and audit samples.
• Work as part of the Immunology team to deliver a comprehensive laboratory service.
• Perform core scientific and interpretive work as per BMS qualifications.
• Assist in training and supervising staff and deputise for Advanced Biomedical Scientist as needed.
• Carry out diagnostic tests and screening per SOPs and ensure accuracy.
