Job summary

Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Biomedical Scientist to join the specialist Immunology Laboratory for a 12‑month fixed-term maternity cover. You’ll develop experience in paediatric diagnostics, supervise junior staff and contribute to high-quality service delivery within a supportive, skilled team.

The role requires HCPC registration, a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent, and experience in ISO15189-accredited Immunology laboratories, with opportunities to work

Qualifications

• BSc Biomedical Science or equivalent as assessed by the HCPC.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience working in an ISO15189 accredited Immunology Laboratory.
• Experience in performing routine diagnostic assays used in Serology, Molecular, Cellular & Immunophenotyping.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the provision of a high-quality clinical diagnostic laboratory service within Laboratory Medicine.
• Support the Immunology Diagnostic Service and supervise junior staff.
• Undertake core scientific, technical and interpretative work across the laboratory, including the Gene Therapy section.
