Job summary

Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Community Children's Therapies team based at Mile End Hospital in Tower Hamlets. The role involves delivering OT assessments and interventions for children aged 5–11, in clinics, schools, homes and community settings.

Experience in paediatrics is not essential; a solid understanding of the OT process and ability to work flexibly is valued. Regular supervision and opportunities for professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Recognised Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Registration with RCOT and HCPC is required.
• Clinical governance and risk understanding.
• Ability to work with children in community settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and therapy for children aged 5–11 with OT needs.
• Supervise Bilingual OT Assistants and support student placements.
• Attend regular supervision and contribute to service improvement.
• Deliver visits in homes, schools, nurseries, clinics and family centres.
