Job summary

Supply Desk in Princes Risborough is seeking a full-time PE Teacher to deliver engaging Physical Education for KS3 and KS4, including GCSE preparation where applicable. You will promote fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles through a broad range of activities and a positive classroom environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach PE across KS3 and KS4, preparing students for GCSE examinations where applicable.
  • Deliver a broad range of sporting activities, including team and individual sports.
  • Create a positive environment that encourages participation and confidence.
  • Assess and monitor progress, informing planning and targeted support.
  • Promote teamwork, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through PE.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet diverse learner needs.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, safety, and safeguarding.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, parents and the wider school community.
  • Support extracurricular activities and school sports fixtures.

About the Role

Are you an enthusiastic and dedicated PE Teacher looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a passionate PE Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school, where you'll inspire students to develop their physical skills, confidence, teamwork, and understanding of healthy lifestyles through engaging and inclusive Physical Education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver engaging, practical, and inclusive PE lessons in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Teach Physical Education across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, preparing students for GCSE examinations where applicable.
  • Deliver a broad range of sporting activities, including team sports, individual sports, fitness, athletics, and other activities where appropriate.
  • Create a positive and motivating environment that encourages students to participate, develop their skills, and build confidence.
  • Assess, monitor, and record students' progress, using assessment information to inform planning and provide targeted support.
  • Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyles through PE and sporting activities.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, ensuring every student is supported to achieve their potential.
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour, health and safety, and safe working practices during all lessons and sporting activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, parents, and the wider school community to promote student achievement and wellbeing.
  • Support extracurricular activities, school sports clubs, fixtures, and competitions where required.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed at all times.

Requirements

  • Strong subject knowledge across the Physical Education curriculum.

  • A passion for sport, physical activity, and inspiring students to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
  • The ability to motivate and engage students of all abilities and backgrounds.
  • A commitment to raising attainment and supporting students' physical, social, and emotional development.
  • An understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A current enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
