Job summary

Protocol Education is seeking a qualified Physical Education teacher to join welcoming secondary schools in Harrow. You will deliver high-quality PE lessons, support pupils’ fitness, teamwork and resilience, and lead extracurricular activities from day one.

Applicants should have QTS and proven experience in UK secondary schools, strong classroom management, and a passion for promoting sport and healthy lifestyles. DBS Update Service is preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification, this role is not suitable for unqualified teachers.
• Proven experience teaching Physical Education in UK secondary schools.
• The confidence and expertise to deliver engaging PE lessons independently from the outset.
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills, with the ability to motivate pupils of all abilities.
• A genuine passion for promoting sport, physical wellbeing and positive outcomes for young people.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons that inspire pupils to enjoy sport, physical activity and healthy lifestyles.
• Developing students' fitness, confidence, teamwork and resilience through a broad and inclusive PE curriculum.
• Assessing progress, providing meaningful feedback and helping every student achieve their personal best.
• Leading and supporting extracurricular clubs, fixtures and school sporting events.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to contribute to a thriving PE department and wider school community.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
