Job summary

Specialist Passenger Solutions (SPS) in Bridgwater is seeking a skilled PCV Vehicle Technician Supervisor to lead our workshop team and keep our fleet safe, reliable and ready for service. You will be responsible for hands-on leadership across the workshop, ensuring maintenance standards support the reliable service our passengers depend on every day.

You will deliver daily pre-shift briefs, supervise technicians, and ensure high levels of safety and vehicle maintenance across the fleet

Qualifications

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or C&G in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (PCV preferred).
• Supervisory experience is required.
• Competent with IT and holding a valid driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on leadership across workshop operation and shift technicians.
• Deliver daily pre-shift briefs and toolbox talks.
• Prioritise and allocate both planned and unplanned work.
• Monitor the shift operation and supervise shift technicians.
• Perform vehicle inspection standard audits and ensure high housekeeping standards.
• Champion high levels of safe working practices at all times.

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated PCV Vehicle Technician Supervisor to lead our engineering team and play a vital role in keeping our fleet safe, reliable and ready for service. You’ll provide hands-on leadership across our workshop operation, ensuring our vehicles meet the highest standards and are maintained to support the reliable service our passengers depend on every day.

Salary: £32.51ph

Specific Hours:Average 42hrs per week working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.
12hr shifts, alternating 4 days (0630 – 1900) & 4 nights (1830 – 0700)

Key responsibilities

• This is a working Supervisor role and will require hands on input
• Delivery of daily pre-shift brief, safety messages and Toolbox Talks
• Prioritising and effectively allocating both planned and unplanned work
• Monitoring the shift operation and supervising shift technicians
• Performing periodic vehicle inspection standard auditsEnsuring housekeeping and cleanliness are maintained to high standards
• Demonstrating and championing high levels of safe working practices at all times

Key requirements

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or C&G equivalent or above in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (PCV preferred)
• Supervisory experience
• Competent with IT
• Driving licence

Hold (or willing to undertake provided training)

• Banks Person
• First Aid
• Possession of IRTEC licence (Inspection / Service Maintenance Technician)

Desirable

• PCV (Category D) licence
