Job description

The PCN Governance & Compliance Officer will work with all the DHC Federation GP Practices and PCNs to support them in achieving the highest standards of governance and compliance. The post holder will deliver an effective service supporting Practice Managers, DHC Managers and associated clinicians to implement, maintain, evidence, and advise on systems for good governance across the Federation. The post holder will help define current governance processes, facilitate discussions and advise colleagues as to how best practice might be adopted, document those processes as they are agreed and see through to delivery to ensure the practices offer the highest quality care to our patients. The post holder will also be an integral part of the wider DHC governance team and will work with them to ensure that PCN governance dovetails with wider organisational governance. The governance team has recently appointed a governance officer whose remit is modernisation of organisational governance processes, and the post holder will work closely with that person to progress this for PCN governance. The approach will be to work collaboratively with Practices to strengthen governance arrangements, share good practice and identify opportunities to maximise efficiency through working at scale. Where appropriate, common approaches, policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures will be developed collectively, while allowing for necessary local variation and Practice autonomy. Shared resources will be made readily accessible to Practices, supporting consistent implementation and reducing duplication of effort.
