Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a PBS Lead to support staff teams in delivering Positive Behaviour Support for children with complex needs. The role focuses on co-producing individual plans with families and ensuring staff are trained in person-centred PBS practices.

The post involves developing high-quality approaches, modelling best practice, and coaching teams to help young people achieve a better quality of life in a supportive school environment.

Qualifications

• Must have worked with pupils who are autistic and have previous experience of this.
• Must be able to communicate in a variety of ways as 70% of pupils are non-verbal (e.g., Makaton, PECs, PODD).
• Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and understanding function of behaviour.
• Flexible to work with pupils aged 4–11 years old.
• Able to think outside the box to deliver a bespoke, accessible curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organise and deliver a high-quality Positive Behaviour Support approach.
• Co-production with children and families to identify support needs and plans.
• Lead delivery of person-centred PBS training and coaching for staff.
• Model best practice and support teams in implementing individualised plans.
• Support staff to create environments where young people thrive.
