  • Processing assigned payrolls to strict deadlines
  • Uploading timesheets and managing statutory payments (SSP, SMP, SPPB)
  • Handling third-party payments and generating BACS files
  • Managing auto-enrolment pensions (Nest/Aviva), including submissions and opt-outs
  • Administering post requests and hierarchy changes within internal systems
  • Responding to payroll queries via email and telephone
  • Liaising with HMRC and handling related queries
  • Supporting the integration of labour costs into the accounts system
  • Assisting colleagues in using the online portal system (training provided)

You will also be expected to contribute to the success of the wider team, sharing knowledge, supporting others, and ensuring high standards are consistently met.

What can you bring?

  • Proven experience in payroll processing (essential)
  • Strong understanding of tax, NI, and statutory payment calculations
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and auto-enrolment pensions
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Confidence to share ideas and challenge constructively
  • A team player mindset with a proactive and positive approach
