Location: Remote

Part-time: 4 days / 24 hours per week, must include Friday as part of the working week

Job Summary

As a Payroll Specialist, you will support the organization’s payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. You will manage the full payroll process, from start to finish, supporting the Payroll Manager across the UK, Ireland, EU—primarily France, Netherlands, and Germany—and India.

  • Process and reconcile payroll, including managing PAYE and NI adjustments and processing BACS payments.
  • Validate incoming payroll data with attention to detail to identify discrepancies.
  • Manage payroll exceptions and resolve issues promptly to maintain accuracy.
  • Identify payment or data errors.
  • Prioritize workload and meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Provide employees with updates and information regarding payroll matters.
  • Liaise with external payroll partners such as ADP.
  • Input and upload data into the payroll system.
  • Handle starter/leaver details and bank information.
  • Adjust statutory payments like SMP, SSP, and other pay rates as needed.
  • Maintain payroll records and generate reports.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting to streamline payroll processes.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations and audits to ensure data accuracy.
  • Improve and implement processes between SuccessFactors and ADP, ensuring internal controls.
  • Manage payroll-related monthly reporting, including journal entries and reconciling general ledger, P&L, and Balance Sheet.
  • Serve as the main contact for employee payroll questions.
  • Update and maintain payroll process documentation.
  • Support other administrative and ad hoc tasks as required.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
  • Demonstrable payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of ADP payroll system is essential.
  • Knowledge of SuccessFactors is beneficial.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Organizational and time-management skills.
  • Desire to develop and improve payroll functions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
