Job summary

Portfolio Credit Control is partnering with a large Chartered Accountancy to recruit a Payroll Senior for their Ipswich office on a permanent basis. The role offers flexibility: 3-day part‑time or 5-day full‑time, with end-to-end payroll processing, pensions, benefits and statutory payments.

You will manage payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensure accuracy, maintain records, and liaise with HMRC and third-party providers while delivering high levels of client service.

Qualifications

• Over two years' payroll experience, ideally in a bureau environment.
• End-to-end payroll processing including pensions and statutory payments.
• Ability to manually calculate payroll.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail across manual and systems-based work.
• Natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision.
• Strong customer-focused approach, handling queries by telephone and email.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients.

We are currently partnered with a large Chartered Accountancy who are looking for a Payroll Senior to join them on a permanent basis based out of their Ipswich office. The role can be considered on either a 3-day part time basis or 5-day full time basis.

Duties

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients
• Completing regular training for the wider team, which could range from information about legislation to systems
• Peer checking of payrolls
• Develop relationships with your clients also ensuring effective communication with the wider offices, HMRC and other third-party providers
• Streamlining any current processes within the team/ Updating and maintaining payroll records/files
• Being the first point of contact to the team to assist and support the team in responding to queries from clients, HMRC, 3rd party providers etc.

About you

• Over two years' payroll experience (experience in a bureau environment would be highly desirable)
• End to end Payroll processing experience including pensions, benefits and statutory payments
• Must have the ability to manually calculate a payroll
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work
• A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision
• Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle customer queries by telephone and email
