Job summary

Portfolio Payroll is seeking a Payroll Senior for their Ipswich office on a permanent basis. The role can be 3 days part-time or 5 days full-time, with responsibilities across end-to-end payroll processing, auto enrolment compliance and client liaison.

The ideal candidate has over two years’ payroll experience, including pensions and statutory payments, and can manually calculate payroll with high accuracy.

Qualifications

• Over two years’ payroll experience, ideally in a bureau.
• End-to-end payroll processing including pensions, benefits and statutory payments.
• Ability to manually calculate payroll and maintain accuracy.
• Strong communication via phone and email.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients.
• Complete regular training for the wider team on legislation or systems.
• Peer checking of payrolls to ensure accuracy.
• Develop relationships with clients and maintain communication with HMRC and third-party providers.
• Streamline current processes and maintain payroll records/files.
• Be the first point of contact to assist and support the team with client queries.

We are currently partnered with a large Chartered Accountancy who are looking for a Payroll Senior to join them on a permanent basis based out of their Ipswich office. The role can be considered on either a 3-day part time basis or 5-day full time basis.

Duties:

• Manage the end-to-end payroll process and auto enrolment compliance for a portfolio of clients
• Completing regular training for the wider team, which could range from information about legislation to systems
• Peer checking of payrolls
• Develop relationships with your clients also ensuring effective communication with the wider offices, HMRC and other third-party providers
• Streamlining any current processes within the team/ Updating and maintaining payroll records/files
• Being the first point of contact to the team to assist and support the team in responding to queries from clients, HMRC, 3rd party providers etc.

About you:

• Over two years' payroll experience (experience in a bureau environment would be highly desirable)
• End to end Payroll processing experience including pensions, benefits and statutory payments
• Must have the ability to manually calculate a payroll
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail across both manual and systems based work
• A natural ability to coordinate, prioritise and multitask with little supervision
• Strong customer focused approach, ability to handle customer queries by telephone and email
