Job summary

Portfolio Payroll is seeking an experienced Clients Payroll Administrator to join a growing practice on a permanent basis. You will own a portfolio of client payrolls and ensure processing is accurate and on time.

Working within an established payroll team, you will handle Auto Enrolment submissions, HMRC reconciliations and respond to client payroll queries while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience handling payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly cycles in a bureau or practice.
  • Strong knowledge of PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP and statutory requirements.
  • Auto Enrolment administration experience.
  • Experience managing multiple client payrolls.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Proactive approach with ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using payroll software.

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Manage starters, leavers, salary changes and payroll adjustments.
  • Produce payslips, P45s and payroll reports.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Reconcile HMRC accounts and liaise with HMRC where required.
  • Respond to client payroll queries.
  • Managing Auto Enrolment administration, including pension submissions and compliance.
  • Uploading pension files to providers and completing reconciliations.
  • Supporting continuous improvement within payroll processes.
  • General payroll administration and maintaining client records.

Job description

We are currently partnered with a growing Top 100 Accountancy who are looking for an experienced Clients Payroll Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis.


Working within an experienced payroll team, you will take ownership of a portfolio of client payrolls, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with payroll bureau or accountancy practice experience who enjoys managing multiple client payrolls and delivering an exceptional service.


Key responsibilities include:


  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls for a diverse portfolio of clients

  • Managing starters, leavers, salary changes and payroll adjustments

  • Producing payslips, P45s and payroll reports

  • Maintaining accurate payroll records

  • Reconciling HMRC accounts and liaising with HMRC where required

  • Responding to client payroll queries

  • Managing Auto Enrolment administration, including pension submissions and compliance

  • Uploading pension files to providers and completing reconciliations

About you:


  • At least 2 years' payroll experience within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice

  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation including PAYE, NIC, SSP, SMP and statutory requirements

  • Auto Enrolment experience

  • Experience managing multiple client payrolls

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

  • Strong organisational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills

  • A proactive approach with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines

  • Good IT skills and confidence using payroll software
