Job summary

Ipswich-based client is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join a dynamic payroll function on a permanent basis. You will own multiple payrolls from start to finish in a fast-paced environment, with hybrid working and the option of full-time or part-time hours.

The role covers end-to-end payroll processing, holiday and NI calculations, SSP/SMP/SPP, pensions, HMRC liaison, and query resolution. Mentoring junior staff and staying up to date with payroll legislation are also key expectations.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience mentoring junior team members.
• Knowledge of current payroll legislation.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end payroll processing for multiple payrolls.
• Calculate holiday entitlement and national insurance.
• Calculate SSP, SMP and SPP.
• Liaise with HMRC on payroll matters.
• Resolve payroll queries and escalate as needed.
• Support payroll management and mentor junior colleagues.
• Remain up-to-date with payroll legislation.

You will be working as part of a dynamic payroll function and will be responsible for taking ownership of multiple payrolls from start to finish. My client is looking for a proactive candidate with a passion for payroll and demonstrable experience of working in an environment where you will be given full autonomy to achieve results. This position offers hybrid working with the option of full time or part time hours.
