Job summary

Counted Recruitment is supporting a Coventry-based client in their search for an experienced Payroll Officer to join a permanent payroll team. The role is office based, with flexible working after probation, and offers ownership of multiple payrolls from start to finish within a bureau environment.

You will process starters and leavers, calculate holiday pay and NI, SSP/SMP/SPP, and handle manual calculations.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing and ownership of end-to-end payroll cycles.
• Ability to stay compliant with current payroll legislation and procedures.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Process starters and leavers.
• Calculate holiday pay and national insurance.
• Calculate SSP, SMP and SPP.
• Maintain pensions knowledge.
• Handle manual calculations where required.
• Communicate with colleagues to resolve queries.

Job description

We are supporting our Coventry based client in their search for an experienced Payroll Officer to join them on a permanent basis. You will be working as part of a dynamic payroll function and will be responsible for taking ownership of multiple payrolls from start to finish within a bureau environment. My client is looking for a proactive candidate with a passion for payroll and demonstrable experience of working in an environment where you will be given full autonomy to achieve results. This position is office based, but flexible working is provided upon completion of a probationary period.

Daily duties and experience required includes:

• Processing starters and leavers
• Calculating holiday and national insurance
• Calculating SSP, SMP and SPP
• Pensions knowledge
• Manual calculations experience
• Confident communication skills
• Query resolution
• Up to date payroll legislation knowledge
• Working within a payroll bureau capacity would be beneficial, but isn't essential
