Impression Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer in Bingley to manage payrolls for a varied client portfolio. You will ensure accurate processing, RTI submissions, and pensions while delivering high-quality client service.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in payroll bureau or accountancy practice
  • Experience with processing payrolls for multiple clients
  • Knowledge of payroll legislation, RTI and pensions
  • Experience with HMRC submissions and P11D is advantageous
  • Proficient in using payroll software and managing end-to-end payroll processes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in payroll data
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with clients
  • Proactive, client-focused approach and ability to work independently

Responsibilities

  • Process weekly, monthly and annual payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Manage multiple client payrolls with accuracy and deadlines
  • Process workplace pension auto-enrolment requirements
  • Submit RTI to HMRC
  • Prepare and submit P11D information
  • Complete BACS submissions and ensure correct payments
  • Handle payroll queries from clients and employees professionally
  • Maintain up-to-date client payroll records and documentation
  • Keep updated with payroll legislation changes and apply them
  • Liaise with clients to obtain payroll information
  • Provide high level client service and build relationships
  • Support general payroll administration and related duties as required

Job Title: Payroll Officer

Location: Bingley, West Yorkshire

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced payroll professional with a strong background in payroll bureau or practice environments and looking for an opportunity to develop your career within a supportive and forward thinking organisation?

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well established and growing professional services organisation as a Payroll Officer, where you will be responsible for managing payrolls on behalf of a varied portfolio of clients. You will play an important role in ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and efficiently, while providing a high level of service and support to clients.

Working within a professional and collaborative environment, this role would suit an experienced payroll professional who is confident managing multiple client payrolls, has excellent attention to detail and enjoys building strong working relationships. Key Responsibilities As a Payroll Officer
  • Process weekly, monthly and annual payrolls for a varied portfolio of clients
  • Manage multiple client payrolls, ensuring all information is processed accurately and within required deadlines
  • Process workplace pension auto-enrolment requirements
  • Complete and submit Real Time Information (RTI) to HMRC
  • Prepare and submit P11D information
  • Complete BACS submissions and ensure payments are processed correctly
  • Deal with payroll queries from clients and employees, resolving issues promptly and professionally
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client payroll records and documentation
  • Keep up to date with changes to payroll legislation and ensure these are correctly applied
  • Liaise with clients to obtain and confirm payroll information
  • Provide a high level of client service and develop strong working relationships
  • Support with general payroll administration and additional client related duties as required
Experience Required As a Payroll Officer
  • Previous experience working within a payroll bureau, accountancy practice or similar multi client environment
  • Strong practical experience processing payrolls for multiple clients
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation, statutory requirements and workplace pensions
  • Experience with HMRC submissions, including RTI
  • Experience with P11D preparation and submission would be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of payroll processes from start to finish
  • Experience using payroll and accounting software would be advantageous
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple payrolls, deadlines and priorities
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a confident and professional approach when dealing with clients
  • A proactive, client focused approach with the ability to work independently and use initiative
  • Full UK driving licence
