Join the Arriva TrainCare Team as a Payroll Officer

Organisation - Arriva TrainCare (ATC)

Location - Crewe

Contract - Fixed term contract - 12 months

Working Hours - Part time 15 - 22.5 hours per week

At Arriva TrainCare, we provide high quality overhaul, maintenance, and servicing of passenger rolling stock, locomotives, freight wagons, and track plant. We operate throughout the UK from six strategic locations: Crewe, Bristol, Eastleigh, Cambridge, Tyne Yard, and Scarborough.

The Role:

You will be responsible for managing the accurate collation of payroll data for submission to the payroll bureau for processing and payment. This includes administration of pensions, Healthshield, childcare vouchers, AOE, and P11Ds.

What You'll Do:

  • Ensure accurate and timely collation of payroll data
  • Manage the processing of starters and leavers
  • Perform reconciliations
  • Handle queries and investigate discrepancies
  • Post payroll journals into management accounts
  • Produce weekly overtime reports
  • Manage P11Ds, additional holiday pay, and gender pay reporting

What You Bring:

  • Experience: Two years payroll processing experience, previous accounting experience, previous customer service experience
  • Knowledge: Strong working understanding of Excel and payroll processes
  • Personal attributes: Highly organised, able to work to tight deadlines, strong attention to detail, self-motivated, excellent organisational skills, effective communication at all levels, and discretion and confidentiality at all times.
