Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll processing experience.
• Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC submissions.
• Experience with statutory payments and pensions.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• High attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly cycles.
• Process payroll for salaried and hourly staff, including overtime.
• Administer new starters, leavers, salary changes, and payroll adjustments.
• Maintain payroll records: tax codes, deductions, pensions.
• Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Submit FPS and EPS; manage year-end processes (P60s, P45s).
• Process statutory payments including SSP and SMP.
• Prepare payroll journals and assist with reconciliations and year-end reporting.
• Submit P11D and P11D(b) returns.
• Respond to employee payroll queries promptly.
• Support payroll system upgrades and data validation.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accuracy.

Payroll Officer - Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll for weekly and monthly payroll cycles
• Process payroll for salaried and hourly employees, including overtime and variable pay
• Administer new starters, leavers, salary changes, and payroll adjustments
• Maintain accurate payroll records including tax codes, deductions, and pension contributions
• Ensure full compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
• Submit FPS and EPS reports and manage year-end processes including P60s and P45s
• Process statutory payments including SSP and SMP
• Prepare payroll journals and support finance with reconciliations and year-end reporting
• Submit P11D and P11D(b) returns
• Respond to employee payroll queries in a timely and professional manner
• Support payroll system upgrades, data validation, and continuous process improvement
• Work collaboratively with HR and Finance to ensure payroll accuracy

Payroll Officer - Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll compliance and HMRC submissions
• Experience processing statutory payments and pensions
• Advanced Excel skills
