Job summary

Transaction Recruitment are supporting our Ipswich based client in their search for an experienced Payroll Officer to join them on a permanent basis. You will work within a dynamic payroll function, taking ownership of multiple payrolls from start to finish with a high degree of autonomy.

The role offers hybrid working with the option of full time or part time hours and requires strong experience in end-to-end payroll processing, HMRC liaison, and pensions knowledge.

Qualifications

• End to end payroll processing.
• Pensions knowledge.
• Liaising with HMRC.
• Up to date payroll legislation knowledge.
• Mentoring junior members of the team.
• Query resolution and escalation handling.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of multiple payrolls from start to finish.
• Support payroll management with escalations.
• Mentor junior payroll team members.
• Handle end to end payroll processing tasks.
• Calculate holiday pay and national insurance.
• Calculate SSP, SMP and SPP.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation.
• Respond to payroll queries and resolve issues.

• Previous experience working within a fast paced payroll department
• Supporting payroll management with escalations
• Mentoring junior members of the team
• End to end payroll processing
• Calculating holiday and national insurance
• Calculating SSP, SMP and SPP
• Pensions knowledge
• Liaising with HMRC
• Manual calculations experience
• Query resolution
• Up to date payroll legislation knowledge
