Job summary

Reed, in Chester, is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage a diverse portfolio of client payrolls. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will handle weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls with accuracy and timeliness.

The role covers RTI submissions, auto-enrolment, year-end procedures, and resolving client payroll queries. You will work closely with clients to meet their payroll needs while maintaining data confidentiality.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in payroll, within a bureau or Accountancy Practice environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple payrolls with varying frequencies and complexities.
  • Strong knowledge of pensions and auto-enrolment.
  • Excellent organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the processing of high-volume weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple small to medium-sized clients.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submissions of RTI and handle auto-enrolment procedures.
  • Process statutory payments and manage year-end procedures.
  • Address and resolve client payroll queries effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to ensure their payroll needs are met.
  • Maintain high standards of data accuracy and confidentiality.

Payroll Officer
  • Contract Type: Part-Time (Would consider Full-Time), Permanent
  • Location: Chester
  • Salary: £30,000 FTE - Could flex dependant on experience

Reed are currently working with a well-established Accountancy firm in a friendly and supportive team based in Chester. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to manage a diverse portfolio of client payrolls. This role reports directly to the Payroll Manager and involves the timely and accurate processing of various payroll frequencies.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Responsible for the processing of high-volume weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly payrolls for multiple small to medium-sized clients.
  • Ensure accurate and timely submissions of RTI and handle auto-enrolment procedures.
  • Process statutory payments and manage year-end procedures.
  • Address and resolve client payroll queries effectively.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to ensure their payroll needs are met.
