Job summary

Regional Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to run the full payroll cycle in Leicestershire, from timesheet collection to submission, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

You will collaborate with recruitment teams to ensure workers are paid correctly, maintain records for HMRC and CIS, manage deductions, and mentor a junior payroll team member. This is a Monday–Friday, office-based role with a focus on compliance and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a payroll management or senior payroll position.
• Strong knowledge of payroll processing and payroll legislation.
• Experience using Sage or similar payroll/accounting systems.
• Experience with HMRC payroll processes, including FPS submissions and P45s.
• Knowledge of CIS, pensions, AOE and DEA deductions.
• Strong numerical and reconciliation skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to manage deadlines and prioritise competing tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to chase information when required.
• Experience of managing, training or mentoring junior members of staff.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly timesheets and follow up with recruiters to ensure outstanding timesheets are submitted promptly.
• Calculate holiday entitlement and holiday payments.
• Create and complete payroll validation checks.
• Process weekly payroll and issue payslips.
• Process payroll adjustments and corrections where required.
• Process deductions including DEA and AOE payments.
• Submit FPS returns to HMRC and issue CIS statements.
• Maintain and reconcile payroll records.
• Upload timesheets and update Sage records.
• Complete payroll journals and reconcile bank transactions.
• Process invoices and raise payments.
• Provide payroll reporting and insights for management.
